Another interesting product, this one. It forms a thread which naturally twists around itself, creating a nicely coiled fuse. The triplex bonds are thus locked in place, unable to release their stored energy easily. Thus, the fuse can only be lit from the end, unless you've got a very hot ignition source. Once you light it, it burns steadily, making for effective length-based timing as well.

These pleasant properties of the finished product belie great difficulty in its assembly. Compressing it to fit in a chamber of this size makes every aspect of the assembly process frustrating. I've tried several times to accelerate the machine, and always run into something being unable to move out of the way in time, or else unable to do everything quick enough. Still, my design is functional enough to produce nearly a foot of fuse in an hour, which is more than enough for anything I'd use it for.
